The Graham Family has been dairy farming for 5 generations, so it really is in their blood. When you grow up on a farm you learn the ropes pretty quickly - the best ways to look after the herds, lending a hand in the milking parlour and helping run the business.
As a family they're all used to mucking in. And mucking out.! Dr Robert Graham was born in the farmhouse they now work from. His father started the business in 1939 and Dr Robert began helping on the farm from a very early age.
By the age of 12 he was helping to deliver the milk within the local area by horse and cart until 'officially' joining the business in 1960 at the age of 19.
He has not stopped since! Key milestones were the first acquisition of Sunnylaws Dairy in Bridge of Allan in 1962 and purchasing their first milk pasteuriser in 1968. He is a fantastic ambassador for the dairy sector and has been instrumental in driving the business forward, successfully transitioning to the next generation and is a great ambassador for family businesses in the UK today.
A very well-deserving recipient of induction to the International Family Business Hall of Fame.
Graham’s The Family Dairy has added another trophy to their cabinet as their Chairman, Dr Robert Graham and his family business, were awarded the highly coveted Outstanding Contribution Award at The Herald’s Scottish Family Business Awards.
